Agents are interactive AI assistants you can chat with inside ShingleAI. Each agent has its own system prompt, model, and per-tool permissions, so you can make an agent that answers support email one way and a research agent that behaves entirely differently.

Agents vs. Automations

Agents are interactive — you open a chat window and talk to them, and they can ask for your approval before running tools. Automations are event-triggered — they fire automatically on events like “new email received” without a human in the loop. The two complement each other: automations handle recurring, well-defined work; agents handle ad-hoc, exploratory work.
