This guide covers how to create, edit, and manage contacts in ShingleAI. Keep your contact information organized to improve communication and enable powerful automations.
Access your contacts from the main navigation:
- Click Contacts in the sidebar
- Browse the contact list or use search to find specific contacts
- Click a contact to view their full profile
The contact list displays:
- Contact name and profile picture
- Company and job title
- Primary email address
- Quick action buttons
To create a new contact:
- Navigate to Contacts
- Click the Add Contact button
- Fill in the contact details:
- First name and last name
- Company and job title
- Email addresses
- Phone numbers
- Addresses
- Click Save to create the contact
Required Fields
At minimum, a contact needs one of the following:
- First name or last name
- Email address
All other fields are optional and can be added later.
To edit a contact’s basic information:
- Open the contact profile
- Click Edit or click directly on the field you want to change
- Update the information:
- First Name / Last Name - The contact’s name
- Company - Their organization or employer
- Job Title - Their role or position
- Title - Honorific prefix (Mr., Ms., Dr., etc.)
- Notes - Internal notes about this contact
- Changes save automatically
Profile Picture
Add or change a contact’s profile picture:
- Open the contact profile
- Click the profile picture area or the Upload Image button
- Select an image file from your computer
- The image uploads and displays on the profile
Supported formats: JPG, PNG, GIF (max 5MB)
Managing Email Addresses
Contacts can have multiple email addresses with labels.
Adding an Email
- Open the contact profile
- Navigate to the Emails section
- Click Add Email
- Enter the email address
- Optionally add a label (e.g., “Work”, “Personal”)
- Click Save
Editing an Email
- Find the email in the contact’s profile
- Click the Edit button next to the email
- Update the address or label
- Click Save
Deleting an Email
- Find the email in the contact’s profile
- Click the Delete button
- Confirm the deletion
Deleting an email address also removes its association with message history. The messages remain but won’t be linked to this contact via the deleted email.
Managing Phone Numbers
Store multiple phone numbers with international support.
Adding a Phone Number
- Open the contact profile
- Navigate to the Phone Numbers section
- Click Add Phone Number
- Enter the phone number
- Select the country code
- Click Save
Phone numbers are stored with:

Managing Addresses
Store physical addresses for contacts.
Adding an Address
- Open the contact profile
- Navigate to the Addresses section
- Click Add Address
- Fill in the address fields:
- Address Line 1 (street address)
- Address Line 2 (apartment, suite, etc.)
- City
- State/Province
- Postal Code
- Country
- Click Save

Viewing Message History
See all communications with a contact:
- Open the contact profile
- Navigate to the Messages section
- Browse messages sent to/from this contact
- Click a message to open it in the inbox
Messages are displayed chronologically with:
- Date and time
- Subject line
- Message preview
- Direction (incoming/outgoing)
To remove a contact from your organization:
- Open the contact profile
- Click Delete Contact (usually in a menu or at the bottom)
- Confirm the deletion
Deleting a contact is a soft delete. The contact is removed from views but data is preserved for compliance. Contact support if you need permanent deletion.
Troubleshooting
